Reconectar

Reconectar reimagina un tramo de Ravenna Park (“Parque de Ravenna”) contando una historia de la restauración de flujos históricos en zonas urbanas. Inspirado por lo que he aprendido sobre la historia de Ravenna Creek (“Arroyo de Ravenna”), decidí centrar agua en mis cambios al transecto que estaba asignado en este proyecto del estudio. Ravenna Creek ha estado separado con Green Lake (“Lago verde”) y traslado bajo de la tierra hasta Union Bay (“Bahía de la Unión”), y los flujos históricos han estado traslados desde las cuestas adyacentes a tuberías bajas de la tierra, lejos del arroyo. Decidí devolver estos flujos terrestres llevando agua de escorrentía por tuberías a través de jardines de lluvias filtrantes y hasta el arroyo. Conectando este flujo restaurado hasta fuentes de agua, ilustro como la salud de las aguas de nuestra región están vinculadas a nuestra salud, y la restauración del agua es una etapa crítica para la salud de los ecosistemas de los cuales somos parte. La ubicación de esta intervención cerca de la transición desde Cowen Park (“Parque de Cowen”) hasta el barranco más arbolado busca provocar reflexión en visitantes y proveer por ellos que están saliendo y entrando el parque.

Los jardines de lluvia en el lado sur del transecto (arriba derecha del plan, primera imagen) se convierten desde un jardín de lluvia con muros de hormigón hasta una balsa para purificar el agua, mostrando como mayor perturbación y contaminación del agua a menudo exigen mayores intervenciones para deshacer daños ecológicos.

Los planes y secciones de este proyecto directamente construyen sobre exploraciones anteriores de este sitio en este curso, por lo tanto, el uso del líquido corrector y la diversidad de marcas en las páginas de los planes y secciones. El estilo artístico de los planes y las secciones es el resulto de la instrucción de Julie Parrett, a su vez influida por las obras de Anuradha Mathur y Dilip da Cunha. El estilo del Diagram de componente de la fuente de agua se basa en el estilo de los gráficos en Lo-TEK, el libro de Julia Watson.
