I am an ecological designer with a passion for dryland ecosystems. I grew up in the “Columbia” Plateau of Eastern Washington and enjoyed hiking and exploring the wild lands outside of the town I grew up in as a kid. However, I didn’t come to recognize and appreciate the natural beauty of our shrub steppe ecosystem until I began to learn about ecology. Now I am an avid proponent of protecting sagebrush shrub steppe habitat and bringing this habitat into our cities and towns. However, ecological design shouldn’t be reduced to the inclusion of native plants – I am also passionate about connecting native ecology with urban systems, reusing “waste” materials, and creating public designs that foster connection and inspire stewardship of our ecosystem. To learn more about me, you can look at my various projects and blog posts on this website.

I practice design on the ancestral lands of the Plateau peoples, who have stewarded this ecosystem since time immemorial.
